Consulting Services

Together we can solve people-related challenges well!

Current offerings:

We love puzzles, and enjoy being “thought partners” exploring how to work with challenging situations.

Schedule a free initial exploratory call, and let’s talk through what you’re facing together.

We’ll ask questions, really listen, and offer a few suggestions if you’d like. No pressure, no cookie-cutter answers … just experienced folks sharing ideas.

It’s a great way to get an outside perspective from folks who believe that better collaboration is possible … we’ve seen it happen!

Who do we work with?

We most often work with small, mission-driven community groups and workplace teams where people have ongoing relationships with each other. Hopefully, there is a leadership commitment to creating time for the work, developing buy-in, and seeing workplace culture and community agreements as valuable to organizational health and well-being.

Sometimes we work with individuals in leadership positions trying to navigate organizational challenges in settings that may not be so supportive or committed.

We are “people” people - we know budgets, operations, grants and bylaws, but we’re at our best in thinking about how people can be better together doing whatever they’re doing.

Why Use an Outside Consultant?

We’re strong believers in people tapping into the things they already know and using their strengths to solve their own problems. But sometimes when we’re in the middle of a tough situation, we can lose track of what we bring to the table or face obstacles in using what we know … there’s too much at stake or too much to do, we’re too “in the weeds,” and have too many considerations to easily balance.

That’s where an outside perspective, from folks who don’t have so much at stake can really help. With over 50 years of combined experience in lots of settings, your Good Collaborations team has knowledge, tools, and many previous examples to draw from in helping you improve interpersonal or group dynamics.

We love to work alongside individuals, organizations, institutions and groups to make tough dynamics easier

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Good Collaborations uses a phased approach:

  1. Gather information, set up mutual expectations for our work

  2. Take a deeper dive, analyzing the situation and identifying the underlying dynamics and needs of key stakeholders, making sure we’re clear on roles and decision-making arrangements, and working to understand the unspoken cultural norms and contextual constraints of the group

  3. Share our sense of the situation, and make recommendations on possible next steps

  4. As appropriate, help develop the practical plans for you to realize the kinds of changes you’re willing to work towards

We know that there’s always more to learn, that circumstances shift, and that we’ll likely need to change plans (or goals) along the way. We’ll be there for you as new things emerge.

We’re committed to staying in good communication, acting with integrity, and continuing to collaborate to get our mutual goals met. Contact us today to get started!
